Hello everyone! My name is Catalina Ramirez and I’m so glad you found my page and I hope you stay. I’m part of the Sophie Davis Program and am doing my undergraduate years at City College of New York in Harlem. I’m pursuing a career in medicine (I dream of being a cardiothoracic surgeon in the future) and for my program I was required to take a Narrative Medicine class. Included here are some of the essays I wrote throughout the semester and they range from a personal narrative to a research essay. 

I used to not like writing as it always seems to be overly structured and cumbersome but after a month into this class I ended up falling in love with writing. I find it such a deeply creative outlet and outside of the papers I’ve written I journal now and have taken inspiration from the free writes we did in the beginning of class to journal something everyday. I hope in reading some of my work you not only enjoy it but also fall in love with the collaborative writing process and literature. I hope you enjoy reading these pieces of writing as much as I enjoyed writing them! 🙂
